FAQs
Can I pitch my existing business?
Yes, you can. However, the prototype developed during the Hackathon will be handed over to the Ministry of Finance. The Ministry of Finance will own all copyrights over the material created and submitted as part of the event!
Can I join with a team already in place?
Yes, in fact, registration as a team is encouraged. However, each member must register individually.
Do I have to participate in both days of the Hackathon?
All participants are expected to participate on both days. This is important to preserve the ‘vibe’ of the event (“no talk, all action”) and minimize distractions/disruptions for working teams.
How do I prepare for this event?
Identify your team members with the requisite skill set, name your team, and register all individuals. Brainstorm and develop a proposal to solve the data exchange problems. Think about what is innovative in your solution, how secure the answer is, what technology stack is used, and whether it will be scalable and robust?
What kind of technology and tools can I use?
The team should mandatorily use only open-source technology and tools. See Licenses & Standards | Open Source Initiative listing all open-source licenses.
What if my idea does not get selected?
If your idea is not selected as part of the Top 5, then unfortunately, we will not be able to invite you to the Hackathon.
What are the judging criteria?
The judges will use a selection criteria to review all pitches on the following aspects.
Development approach of the mobile application
High-level system architecture of the mobile application
Reusability and scalability of the data exchange mechanism
Team capability and skill sets
