Your idea in 30 Hours!

The Ministry of Finance is calling all local entrepreneurs with an idea to tackle infrastructure constraints in digital public financial management. In addition to helping solve a pressing government challenge, participants will have the opportunity to connect with amazing mentors, industry experts, founders, and partners who can support them in delivering on this critical issue.

The objective is to design a practical digital technology solution that can enable the Ministry of Finance to collect information on spending information from organizationally and regionally decentralized teams.

The solution would then act as a building block from which future reform and innovation initiatives can be taken forward.

Schedule & registration process

The Hackathon will be organized in two phases:

1. The virtual phase: Online registration will open from January 19, 2023 until February 19, 2023 right after the info session guided by the IMF is concluded. By February 21, the top 10 selected teams will be invited to present their ideas virtually to the panel of experts from Yemen Ministry of Finance, and IMF.

2. The In-person phase: On March 13-15, the top 5 teams selected will join us for the Hackathon in Amman for the 30 hours in-person component of the Hackathon.
